Demo preview. Sample data, not the DEED dataset.

Data

50 states, 17 years, one coding scheme.

Filter the map by year, open a state, or take the whole dataset. Everything below runs on a synthetic sample — the structure is real, the numbers are not.

Questions

Before you use this

Is this the real DEED data?

No. Every figure on this site comes from a synthetic sample generated for the demo. The DEED dataset is not public yet and none of it appears here.

What counts as an event?

A discrete, dated action placed in one state and one category from the codebook. The methodology page sets out the full definition and the coding rules.

When will the dataset be available?

Public release is targeted for 2027, together with the methodology, codebook, and validation documentation.

Can I cite it?

Not yet. A citation format will be published with the dataset on release. Nothing on this preview should be cited.
